Word from Wesel September 26, 2011

Mensch that is weird! C in the MTC? And when you say a few months ago for J you mean over a year. J only has 6 months left! How is that possible? I did get K's package at ZoKo last week, which was way awesome! Tell her thanks from me! Legos, nerf guns and sweets... what more can you want?

Our S family is doing ok. A lot has happened though. She is way awesome and the ward takes care of her, which is what we like to see. We have a Russian lady in our ward whom LOVES her because Russian is supposedly really close to Serbian and they can understand each other. We called on Saturday to make sure they were still coming to church and the son said something about his mother and a broken foot and that they couldn't come to church. We were freaking out and after church we took her already assigned home teacher with us to go give her a blessing. The funny thing was is that she was walking around and doing just fine so that left us a little confused. Then we went into the other room and it was her mother-in-law that had the broken foot. That was a relief but it is also setting the baptismal date back two weeks. Our S lady has to take care of her. She is still way awesome though. We taught the Word of Wisdom and she was like, 'I don't understand why I can't drink coffee... but if that is what God wants then I will do it’. Not too many people say that here. Her faith is incredible. She also says if she gets baptized that she is committed. She doesn't want to get baptized and then not be at church. She is awesome. We just have to work through some things.

This mormon.org campaign sounds amazing. President Schwartz said they’re working on something similar here. Start of the New Year the site will be in German and we will have pass along cards specifically for the site. I don't know if I already talked about this but it is a great tool. Kids will talk to us and ask us what we do. We ask them if they have internet and they all pull out their handys. Perfect! We pull up the site right there and they think it is pretty cool. It's a good chance for them to practice English. Proof that we need iPads (which is apparently in the works).

The work moves forward. Thanks for the support! Love you all! Tschüss!

Elder Evan
